How long can kids stay on parent's insurance if not in college full time?

My insurance policy reads that kids can remain on parents policy until age 25 but a friend of mine says that some insurance companies require kids to be enrolled in college full time in order to remain on parents insurance. One of my kids will be enrolled part time in college and working part time. Has anyone encountered this situation that the insurance company requires full time college enrollment and proof of it?How long can kids stay on parent's insurance if not in college full time?
It depends on your plan, and which state you live in. Some states, only 18 or 19. Others, 26.

Yes, once your child is over the magic age, come open enrollment, the insurance company will require proof that the child is a full time student. How long can kids stay on parent's insurance if not in college full time?
Dependency audits are now the norm.

To claim benefits for anyone, most companies require that you live together and that any child 19 and older must be enrolled full time in college.

A few companies are taking pity and allowing a higher age, so it will depend on the exact plan. (The parent will pay more in income tax, but there is value in being able to add the child to the insurance plan at work over a private policy.0
