Hello Krystal. Unfortunately, this happens far too often. When you are working and a friend or family member winds up incarcerated, you are to fill out a Nexus report. It would list the type of relationship you have with the individual ( which is NOT held against you). Administration will make sure you do not work in the same unit as the family member and in a worst case scenario, grant an administrative transfer to the inmate, removing him from your facility.

You are not responsible for the actions of any other person. You are only accountable if you do not report a known situation.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful to youCan you work as a illinois department of corrections officer if you have a incarcerated parent?
Your father is not you. It shouldn't effect you.
Your parents actions have nothing to do with your career in law enforcement. You should be just fine.
I can't imagine them holding the actions of your parents against you. On the other hand, it would be awkward.
