Is it considered child endangerment if the parent has a life threatening disease?

A friend of mines Aunt has MRSA and is refusing treatment. Her 13 year old daughter is staying with us, and has been for a while. My question is, is should we call or involve authorities regarding her daughter's welfare? I am worried if she goes home that she will contract the disease and her well-being would be in jeopardy. What should my family and myself do?

P.S. We live in New York if that makes a differenceIs it considered child endangerment if the parent has a life threatening disease?
Call the health department in your area, explain the situation, and let them direct you on what steps you need to take. They may even call child protective services themselves because it is a threat to the community for a person to let a contagious disease to environmentsenviroments where it can spread. Is it considered child endangerment if the parent has a life threatening disease?
MRSA is EXTREMELY contagious!! Absolutely call her doctor's office or even the health department. It's just going to keep getting passed around, and you don't want that for anybody, much less a child. Why is she refusing treatment??
