How would someone go about terminating a parent's rights?

I need a VERY detailed explanation on how to terminate parental rights in the state of North Carolina.

Reasons:

Abuse

Drug and alcohol abuse

Please explain every aspect for me.

Usually you have to be a state agency to file a termination of parental rights. The only other way is for you to be adopting the child as the termination is done, so that the child still has parents responsible for them.

If you are already divorced, or have a child support order in place you can try to get them for contempt for non payment,.

The process varies by state, but it is called parental emancipation. You'll probably have to appear in court to resolve the matter and provide proof. I googled it but cannot find any actual sources from your state.

Here is the google link to the search term:

play around with the search terms and you might just find something, or perhaps seek advice from law books or even a lawyer.

Best of luck!
