How difficult is it to be a ';good'; parent these days?

I don't consider spoiling your child with every electronic device that comes out as being a good parent, or feeding them junk foods on a daily or even weekly basis. How difficult is it to be a ';good'; parent these days?
We can't afford that sort of stuff - and I try to live simple, and have an outdoor lifestyle - it probably puts my kids at a disadvantage to their peers, but I hope it will work to their advantage as adults. How difficult is it to be a ';good'; parent these days?
i duno for sure cause im not a parent 鈾?but it seems like there is a bombardment of ads being shoved down childrens throats for those new electronic devices, an that people arent nutritionists, so its easy to buy food that is unhealthy without realizing just how unhealthy it is. and a lot of parents are so busy they let the tv babysit the kids and feed their kids fast food. plas my mom said that a lot of parents these days had stricter parents themselves, an like to give their kids things because they say it makes them feel good to see their kids happy. but giving kids things for no reason spoils them!!
Both parents have to work now-a-days just to pay the bills . . .All that spoiling is used as a way to ease their guilt over the time they miss with their kids.. . .spoiling used to be the job of grandparents, but they've taken that job away from us. . . .so sad . . .
Depends on your definition of ';good';.
Neither do most people ..... its tricky

edit: Its getting a bit busy round here .....
