What does it take to be foster parent?

I really want to be foster parent, not for the money, just a little for it, but more for the kids, i have been in foster care and know what its like to now have parents. i feel i can give kids love, be a father for them. What does it take to be effective to the kids? is there training before i am a foster parent? and how old do i have to be?What does it take to be foster parent?

Call your local social services office. In my state, there are conference calls and class room trainings you have to take. There is also an interview and a home inspection along with a background check.
I suggest you NOT be a foster parent if you are doing it for the money.





That is horrible. That money is supposed to be used for the kids, not in your pocket.
