For any one that is a single parent? How do you move your whole life to another state?

I am thinking about moving to another state with my 11 year old daughter. What are the things I should be doing first? Can anyone give some adviceFor any one that is a single parent? How do you move your whole life to another state?
As you probably already know, everything with children is more complicated. I really suggest moving at the end of a semester in time to start a new semester. It is an easier transition. Make sure that her credits will transfer and that it won't be any problem.

You'll need copies of her state birth certificate (not the one with the feet prints), her social security card and shot record to register her for school.

If she has any special health issues, I'd ask her pediatrician for a referral to a Dr. where you are moving and have her records forwarded.

Do everything you can in advance as far as having a job, place to live, schools picked out etc., in order to make the transition an easier one.

Take opportunities to get her excited about the move and tell her about all the things to do, see etc in the new place.

Offer her lots of reassurance that she will still be able to talk on the phone, see or write family and friends.

Get her a little address book so she can write down her friends addresses, phone numbers and email accounts. It will make her feel important.

Good Luck! For any one that is a single parent? How do you move your whole life to another state?
make sure you have employment before you move otherwise, stay where you are unless your moving to be closer to family,
