Price Fixing - Is it legal when both companies are owned by the same parent company?

I know it's illegal for separate companies to come together to fix prices eg. the supermarkets regarding the milk prices recently.





But if you have 2 companies with different company registration numbers agreeing their prices is it legal?Price Fixing - Is it legal when both companies are owned by the same parent company?
If my understanding is correct price fixing is the act of two competitors raising a price in conjunction with each other so that both can make more money and avoid pesky things like the consumer making a choice on where to shop based on goods costing less. In those cases that is considered unlawful because it undermines the principles of our economy.

That is what the free market is about. I noticed sometimes the government steps in like when UPS goes on strike.
