How does the intelligence of parent factor into their children?

I'm aware that it is not entirely understood and that a full answer I probably would not understand, but, generally, how does it work? I know intelligence 'can't be defined', but you know what I mean when I ask how the parent's intelligence factors in. Is the intelligence usually inbetween the two...sometimes the more intelligent parent and sometimes the less and hten other times nowhere near either? Generally, how does it work? How does the intelligence of parent factor into their children?
Most intelligence is genetic. Better parent gene = better offspring genes. Maybe 10% is up to opportunity and choices after birth. The answer, therefore, is the parents play a huge role. How does the intelligence of parent factor into their children?
Where parents have very different IQs, like any other hereditable trait, the child may take after one parent characteristic if the character is dominant - where both parents have high intelligence there is usually a regression to the mean IQ..(ie100).

although intelligence is not an inherent factor the intelligent parents will tend to create an environment for the child that encourages learning.
Well Genetics plays its part, because thats what sets humans apart to begin with , were genetically at a level where we can learn more. And then theres the factor of how your raised.

Its a combination of what you got to start with, and what happend afterwards.
that's a very debatable question. i come from the camp that says intelligence is not genetic. i believe your intelligence is a factor of how much your parents teach you at a young age, and how much you are willing to learn after that.
