Is it normal to be completely freaked out by the idea of having a baby grow inside of you- and being a parent?

I want to have a family with my husband in the future but the idea of being pregnant freaks me out. I'm worried about moving the wrong way- not eating enough of the correct foods. And then I'm completely nervous about the whole parenting thing- I have fears of what if I'm not a good parent- or what if my child does drugs or something.

Does everyone experience a time like this?Is it normal to be completely freaked out by the idea of having a baby grow inside of you- and being a parent?
Some level of anxiety is normal and you SHOULD be thinking about things like that and asking yourself questions about how to behave and how you might react in a certain situation. That's a healthy part of the change process and preparing yourself for parenting.

If these anxieties are overwhelming and holding you back from becoming a parent when you really desire to , then you might have some deeper issues that you need resolving before embarking on that journey. Is it normal to be completely freaked out by the idea of having a baby grow inside of you- and being a parent?
yes! and it doesn't go away once the baby gets here... then you have to worry about sickness, school bullies, dating, success.... ugh!

you are very normal. it's like the johnson %26amp; johnson commercial says.... ';having a baby changes EVERYTHING';...

but the love and joy adds so much to your life that you won't be able to imagine life without them.

(by the way... there's no rush... enjoy your husband for awhile before having kids, because you won't get to enjoy him much for awhile afterwards!)

good luck!
Yes its totally normal.

Knowledge is power.

Moving the wrong way: as long as you are careful not to lift anything to heavy you should be ok however, when you are farther along moving to fast could cause you a little discomfort if you pull a muscle but baby will be fine

Correct foods: You need alot of iron and vitiams but taking a prenatal vitamin and eating just 300 extra calories of healthy foods will keep you on track

Parenting: There is no book on that, you follow your insticts, ask questions to family and friends and on the net. Even really good parents have kids that end up with drug issues, you cant always help it, but I also believe in this case knowledge is power. If you are open and honest with your kids they will come to you and talk and ask questions and then your chances of having problems with them wont be so bad.
Yes, all normal. I always thought of Aliens when my 1st started moving. You get over that and will find your way as it happens. It's all trial and error, lots of phone calls to sisters, moms and friends who have kids. Try to relax and enjoy the experience. It goes by so fast.
