How do you parent a really bad kid?

How does one parent a kid who is bad?

She's 12 and she always gives problems. More problems than other kids. It's not the problems that's bad. It's mostly the lying. She lies even when she is caught red handed. How do you parent a really bad kid?
Kids lie because they are afraid of getting into trouble, disappointing their parent figure, and because they are embarrassed; aside from just concealing the truth.

Sounds to me like your punishments are too severe and she's afraid but you might want to have her evaluated to see if there's a pathological issue. How do you parent a really bad kid?
All kids lie. You might want to consider the fact that your child is going through some hormonal changes right now. My oldest daughter was extremely hard to handle between the ages of 11 and 14. It mellowed out a lot after she got her period.

The best thing you can do is to have patience while enforcing your rules and handing out the proper punishment when the rules are broken. Especially when it comes to lying. Kids push the boundaries to see how far they can get. But remember to be understanding and caring as well. Try to keep the lines of communication open.
Blatant, bold-faced lies are the worst type. This girl needs an attitude adjustment. It seems that she does fear your punishments enough. Have you tried spanking her? Dishonesty, in any form, should not be condoned. A person's reputation and integrity come right after one's health when ranking one's most valued possessions. She needs to learn that if she lies, cheats, or steals, she will be dealt with very harshly.
Get the belt out. When they know the belt is coming, they shape up. It's an attention getter.
consistent parenting, discipline, nurturing and love. If what you are doing is not working then change yourself.
I agree with Jeff, a spanking may well help. Best done on bared buttocks with hand over lap or knee
