Why would a parent allow their child to smoke weed?

My best friend recently told his mom that he smokes weed and she is perfectly OK with it. He is in college, has a job, and doing well, but he smokes weed excessively now and I feel he in on the verge of going down hill and I'm the only one that cares. What can I do, and what allows his mom to allow him to do this?Why would a parent allow their child to smoke weed?
I read this magazine that this mom allowed her teenage daughter to smoke, she bought condoms for her, and allowed her to drink. Apparently her perception was that if she didn't expose her daughter to those things, her daughter would secretly do those things herself behind her back. The mom didn't want that and wanted to keep her trust with her daughter so she allowed her daughter and encouraged her to do those things.





Maybe your best friend's mom was happy that he told the truth to her and didn't lie about it?Why would a parent allow their child to smoke weed?
His mom respects him as an adult and she would rather know that he smokes then him go behind her back and kids are smoking weed now a days and if he is smoking a lot to the point where he could get caught then you should tell his mother and then confront him with it


if u cant get him to stop then try to get him to cut down on it.


hang out with him from time to time i.e. take him out to a club or something.
As long as he is doing well in life, why would you be concerned? My mother knows that I smoke weed, but she is cool with it because I can still maintain a 3.72 at a good college. If he smoke excessively I might suggest that he cuts down for the sake of his health however, there doesn't really seem to be a problem here.
She probably did it herself as a young person. If she denies her kid using it, she'd be a hypocrite. I would like to know the reason a woman who tells others that she is intelligent, would allow herself to get pregnant and have a kid in the first place! She deserves whatever she gets.
Would u be getting all upset if your friends mom was drinking instead of smoking. Maybe his mom sees them as the same.
Maybe his mom did and suffered no ill effects that she can tell.
