Should the parent who worked less during the year claim the child?

My partner and I live together and have a child. Were not sure as to who should claim the child. My partner worked less than I did during the yearShould the parent who worked less during the year claim the child?
Not necessarily. You should complete tax forms twice, once with you claiming child and once with partner claiming child. It may be that there is a bigger advantage for the one who worked more, but maybe not.
